Understanding Contemporary Fashion: Myths Busted!

Contemporary fashion is one of the most misunderstood terms in the world of fashion, especially if we talk about the Indian market. Some people misinterpret it with Indo-Western while other with bohemian style, whereas this particular style is all about comfort, ease and not making a big hole in your pockets!

Contemporary fashion states one’s individuality, representing the street culture, it is a kind of fashion that is often expressive. It isn’t a definitive form of fashion. Contemporary is a term that is popularly known as living in present, and we believe it defines your current state of mind. It describes your personality as an individual, makes you emphasize on your own style statement.

Uniqueness is the key to contemporary fashion, it is limitless just like fashion itself.

What to wear with what?

Contemporary fashion makes us believe that there are no rules of wearing what with what. Wearing sports shoes with a saree or maybe slippers with your jumpsuits is as normal as anything else. Breaking the stereotype, Contemporary Fashion is all about creating your own kind of fashion. It takes birth every second with someone who wants to break the monotony. (Painful) Fashion Trends!

If it’s not comfortable is it really fashion? We have witnessed so many people stepping out of their comfort zone just to fit into that one dress, in which they can not even breathe or maybe to wear a pair of shoes that is visibly uncomfortable for them. Why? All our lives we have heard all the celebrities or famous style icons commenting about how important it is to feel comfortable in whatever you wear, but are they themselves comfortable in those 6 inches heels or in that fitted corset underneath that dress in which they can hardly breathe? Well! Contemporary fashion makes you learn about comfort, and how important it is for an individual to carry herself/himself without compromising on their comfort level.

Fashion is only for Rich People!

Whoever says fashion is all about expensive clothes, definitely does not have a personal style statement. Remember what they say? “Fashion is what you buy, but style is what you do with it”. Contemporary fashion is about wearing un-labelled clothes or not too pricy labels, without compromising on the quality of the fabric. It helps you keep your style on-point, without making a hole in your pocket.

In today’s era, we have started to embrace contemporary styles, and the demand of high quality budgeted clothing is so high that even the most priced brands are coming up with collections that represent contemporary styles. So, next time dress according to your mood, and not trends!
