Hello my lovelies!
I finally found the right occasion to get my mother to take a seat on The Style Chair. So, recently I had done a few Instagram stories with my mother in it and I got so many Direct messages complimenting her that I decided to do a Blog post with her and what better than Mother’s Day (also its my mum’s birthday month)! With my favourite photographer in town this post just seemed meant-to-be. After seeing the Art Robe’s collection and having found the perfect chic drapes to flaunt. My mother and me got all excited to put together this special post.
Oh! Belated Mother’s Day wishes to all the beautiful mothers out there reading this post. Sorry we don’t appreciate you as much but we do know nothing can ever match up to what a mother does her entire life.
Lets get the spotlight now on these designer pieces. I actually couldn’t have asked for better designer pieces than the Art Robe ones. Light, stylish, classy and the best part was that the Art Robe designs aren’t age specific and oh-so unique. The Kaftans looked great on me as well as my mum.
These Art Robe Kaftans were very comfortable to shoot with, even in this blistering heat. The drapes looked so flattering on our bodies, my mum just loved how it gave her profile a slimmer look and she decided to wear the stole on her arm rather than typically in the neck. My mother actually loves experimenting more than me and normally I might tick her off (about looking silly, whereas in my head I wonder why I was not as creative); but this time I wanted her to just let her creativity and style flow as naturally as possible.
Kaftans are actually quite an evergreen piece, it’s that classy addition you just need to have in your wardrobe. Wear it for a wine-dine night, a formal occasion or even for an indian function with straight pants and stand out in the crowd 🙂
The lady behind these beautiful creations is Rakhi Sethi and the curator of the beautiful hand painted artwork on her pieces are done by her mother Malaa Treon. And You can find The Art Robe India on Facebook- The Art Robe India or

A lot of people including myself adore and admire my mother’s sense of style! She really gives me a run for my money when it comes to being fashionable. So, I decided to do a little interview with her, specially so you all have an insight into her tryst with Fashion! Keep Reading ❤
TSC: What is Fashion to you?
MOM: Fashion for me is being in trend!
TSC: How would you define your sense of style?
MOM: Trendy! I like to sport the latest fashion clothing, jewellery, hair colour and makeup. More so being in the beauty industry, clients look up to us for beauty and fashion inspiration.
TSC: Has your sense of style changed over the years?
MOM: My Sense of style has always been trendy, so as the fashion changes along the years I get my style in-sync with what’s latest in-trend.
TSC: What’s is like to have a fashion blogger for a daughter?
MOM: My daughter is my stylista, my best critic. I get to know about the latest styles etc from her & I trust her creativity.
TSC: What’s the most loved thing in your closet?
TSC: What’s that one staple thing to have in your closet this summers?
MOM: Shorts and onlu shorts! (All the menopausal women will definitely get that)
TSC: Your current favourite fashion trend?
MOM: Off shoulders and Maxi dresses.
(Oh the off-shoulders she has been rocking and how)
TSC: A Fashion tip for ladies in their fifties?
MOM: Ladies let’s be experimental and give the younger ladies something to look up to! Just know your body type and then go all out.
TSC: A Fashion tip for the young girls out there?
MOM: The younger ones have so much of choice these days that’s accessible literally at their fingertips unlike in our times. While having said that, all the young ladies should always remember to: Dress elegant and sophisticated because elegance never goes out of style.
I have to admit though, if there is someone who will push me to wear a backless dress or push me to be in-trend it’s her. I love mixing things up with the basics and she loves colours. While I’ll be happy with a nice winged eyeliner she would be playing it up with coloured eyeliners. I get so much fashion inspiration from her it’s just unreal. Like they say- the struggle (to keep up) is real 😉
Drop in your likes and comments on this post if you liked this Mother’s Day Special on TSC and found it different from the rest 🙂
