It’s trend alert time on TSC & this time in the spotlight are: Duster Jackets and Waterfall Jackets.
If there is something new you need to get for your winter layering it should be a Duster jacket or a Waterfall jacket (or maybe even both :p)
But before you ogle on this new trends let’s get know a little bit more about the Duster & Waterfall jackets.
Duster jackets are supposed to be light & loose jackets which are usually full-length. Duster jackets are unlike Trench coats, trench coats are more structured & decorative whereas Duster jackets are more functional. These were originally worn in the late 19th and early 20th century, both men and women wore dusters to protect their clothes when riding in open motorcars on the dirt roads of the day.
Waterfall jackets on the other hand have a flowy neckline & rather no collar.
The best part about the waterfall jacket is that it is flattering for any & every body type. Being open it can actually be teamed up with day wear looks or even a night wear look (and show off that new dress of yours this winter)
The jacket worn in this look is a duster jacket with a light waterfall neckline. So, get out of the usual rut of fitted jackets or structured blazers. Be comfortable & trendy this winter by getting yourself a flattering jacket ❤
