Desi Belle

The festive season is right upon us 😀 & there couldn’t be a better way to celebrate the Goddess of Power other than a bold outfit!

Durgotsava has just begun & from now till the end of the year its just all about festivities! Festivals festivals & even the wedding season is right around the corner.

While the festivities can be very exciting, for some of us its actually a little bit of a task too. Planning your Indian style outfits & making sure they are in place for the occassions can be a exhausting for people like me normally don’t even wear a kurta on a regular day. Not only outfits but even making sure that the accessories & footwear match could really drive you up the wall!

So, we do get all excited & buy all these desi outfits, that eventually just hibernate in our closets. Not like they even came cheap! So why buy outfits that can only be worn during weddings or big Indian festivals? (that too not more than two appearances a year)

Style Tip– Buy, Indian outfits that are contemporary & hence more usable!

For me, whenever it comes to getting an outfit already set for the festive season I like getting it designed rather just buying off the shelf (This year I have been extra lucky because I have found one of the best designers in Pune, who also isn’t exhorbitant either).

While designing this outfit all the recent trends have been kept in mind. Like the slit, the long jacket & my favourite- the dhoti pants. My whole criteria was to have an outfit designed around dhoti pants. And now I can’t wait to pair this dhoti with my crop tops 😀

Bling & pearls is where my designer surprised me! Bling is for all of you who love all things shiny & pearls for all you classic lovers.

This look can be worn for Pujas or even for a wedding fuction or maybe even our Diwali festival. The same outfit although can be used seperately in a ton of ways. Using only the jacket from this outfit to team up different looks or just the dhoti pants for a different look.

Accessories were kept to the minimal playing it up only with a statement ring & a cocktail ring. Adding on accessories can really jazz up the outfit & can be worn for a dressier occasion.

To cut down on the dramatic look & to opt for a more Chic Desi look go with straight hair! Smokey eyes is just what you need with a bling outfit.
