Lets get ‘Waist’ed

Thanks to all the love I recieved while flaunting my ethnic embroidered waiscoat (last month on the blog) I decided to dedicate a fashion post solely revolving around waiscoats.
While summers are all about bright colours & neons, winters being about darker hues. Monsoons for me is all about beating the dullness with quirky prints.

Monsoon season is quite in full swing. Although I am really thankful (especially as a blogger) that Pune doesnt receive unending downpours! That’s how I am yet able to shoot & post regularly in the monsoon season too (worst season for any fashion blogger especially)
With layering being big on the fashion grid, Waiscoats are the best way to style your outfit in the monsoon. There couldnt be anything better than to add some funk to your outfit (without worrying about it getting mucked up unlike capes) than by throwing on a waistcoat.

Flowly silhouettes & capes don’t get pulled out as much in the rains. Options with outfits can get very limited in the monsoons. I mean Who would really want their clothes wet or dirtied in this season?

The fun thing about waistcoats and crop jackets is that they are super comfortable & really easy to go crazy in (it barely restricts my movements).

Waiscoats originally worn as a part of a three piece suit for men, these days are seen worn by women more & definitely in a more stylish way. Waiscoats arent restricted to just formal looks but can be paired with a casual look, semi formal look or can even be worn out to a party.
A few years back the formal waiscoats were back in fashion with slimmer fits & cropped versions. Even in those days I used to pair the waiscoats with a tee or even a skirt and head out for drinks or even wear it to work.
Now waistcoats are all about prints & fabrics & even ethnic embroidered waiscoats are being teamed up with kurtas. (Yes the typical salwar kameez can look unique too with a quirky waistcoat)

Here’s a look at Three different waistcoats and Four different looks. Pick your favourite style & get waisted too 😉

Casual Chic

Cropped Jacket- ONLY
Pants- Bershka

Not only waiscoats but even crop jackets look fabulous and add a lot of structure to a look.
Here you can see me playing the print on print trend.

Party Gal

Waistcoat- Quirkbox
Maxi Dress- Forever 21
Heels- KOOVS
Sunglasses- Knockaround
Necklace- Miss Flurrty

Bright colours really makes you stand out. Add a quirky waiscoat to the typically favourite black dress & dive into crazy party mode 😉

9 to 5 Quirk

Shirt- Bershka (EU)
Waiscoat- Quirkbox
Denims- Wrangler
Shoes- Forever 21

Friday dressing definitely calls for a waistcoat! Just throw on a waistcoat on a shirt (tucked in or pulled out, however you like) & add some quirk to the typically boring office wear!

Animal print Jumpsuit- Splash
Fringed long waiscoat- New Look
Shoes- Forever 21

Bring in the weekend on a Friday night with a sexy jumpsuit (animal prints qualifies as sexy 😉 ). This fringed long waiscoats is definitely a very unique find & the best part about long waiscoats is you can wear it with anything! You name it- shorts or skirt or denims or even a jumpsuit 😀

Its amazing how with a small garment you can absolutely change the look of a whole outfit.

So ladies Get ‘Waist’ed this season 😉
